In a real gritty tussle between 2 of the leagues top teams the battle came down to the strenght and experience of the packs.

The Tigers having the more mobile pack lacked the static strength of the Eagles forwards and were gradually worn down in a match with few opportunities. It is to the credit of the pack that they hung on throughout the game and heads never went down but the lack of clean ball for the back line meant the Tigers were limited to few scoring chances.

A few wayward kicks under the immense pressure of the game meant the Tigers were undone by a solitary try from the Eagles.
