Paphos Colts Rugby |
The Colts are organised
by Nick Bilton and training session are run on Tuesday
afternoons. Children between the ages of 12 and 17 can
play for the Colts. They are sponsored this year by DrainTech and the Paphos
Colts would like to that this opportunity to thank them for
their support. |
| The Tigers Colts Team (13-17 year olds) is thriving, having benefited from the expertise of Nick Bilton their coach, ably assisted by enthusiastic parents. A sudden influx of players at the beginning of the 2006 season has meant a healthy turn out every week of around twenty players at the Forza Sports Centre in Paphos. This enthusiasm has generated a lot of interest with both ex-patriot and local Cypriot young men.
The sessions last for 90 minutes and include a general fitness and warm up session followed by backs and forwards skills and always end with an enjoyable practice game. This increase in fitness, skills and commitment by the lads resulted in a recent win against Limassol Crusaders Colts, their local rivals. An upcoming game against St John's School Episcope will complete their Cyprus fixture list. |

The Colts scene in Cyprus is flourishing with three strong teams on the island. This bodes well for the more senior teams of Paphos Tigers, Limassol Crusaders and Nicosia Barbarians. The Army sides will also eventually benefit from the enthusiasm of these aspiring young players. The rugby ethos of tough but fair play, with respect for other players and the officials can only be good for all the young men of Cyprus
