Tigers Support Drugs Awareness Campaign

The Drugs Awareness Campaign is an 'Appeal'. It is a network of people who collaborate with expert parties in Cyprus and worldwide to combine initiatives and projects with an objective to combat drugs. A unanimous decision was made to support the Drugs Awareness Campaign by the Tigers’ Committee in October 2009.

The corporate objective of the Drugs Awareness Campaign is to communicate the message ‘SAY NO’ to drugs.

Additionally, to generate awareness of drugs issues in an attempt to distract vulnerable parties. Offer counseling to the victims and their families, often through the support to KENTHEAS, to access visual display material from other countries for use on information websites and at school talks and delegations.

Support from businesses, raising money through events and private funding is vital to expand the campaign in Cyprus. Basic costs are required to stage lectures (delegates flights/accommodation), print publicity information and for the logistics of accessing visual displays and drugs awareness programmes approved by International educational and police operations.

At present no government or EU funding has been made available, the campaign relies on private sources, which is why the Campaign Volunteers and Organisers are grateful to The Paphos Tigers Rugby Team, AKME Securitas, Bob Clarkson Logistics, Chilly’s Frozen Foods and White Consultancy Group (B.V.I) Ltd and IMPACT Loss Control Services, who are main capital Sponsors and Supporters.

The official website www.auctionincyprus.com (coming soon) will give updated information on events, talks and delegations. Through an auction-sale on-line, the website aims to raise funds for the campaign. The organisers express their genuine thanks to all the Campaign Supporters.
